24 Hour Challenge

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 24 Hour Challenge cost anything?

No, it is free of charge to take part.

Do we have to complete 24 hours in one go?

No, and we recommend you don't! You have from June 4th - September 2nd to clock up your 24 hours.

How do we clock up our 24 hours?

We've provided 24 Incredibles 2 inspired missions to get you started, but you can clock up your 24 hours doing whatever physical activity you choose. The most important thing is that you get your bodies moving, your heartrate up and/or build your physical skills together.

Who can be on my team?

You can include anyone you like on your team, as long as everyone does the activities together. Your team can include 2 - 10 people.

What counts as physical activity?

Anything that gets your body moving, heart rate up, or builds your physical skills counts for the 24 Hour Challenge. You can include everyday activities like walking, cycling, going to the park, as long as your whole team does the activity together.

Do we need to buy equipment to do the challenge?

No you don’t, but feel free to be as creative as you like with existing equipment or everyday items. Some of our suggested incredible Missions include items like a ball or hula hoop.

What if a team member has a disability?

We would like the 24-hour challenge to be as fun and inclusive as possible for all team members. Most missions offer adaptations however, we recognise that every team member will have different strengths so we encourage teams to be creative and flexible as possible to keep the challenge fun and relevant for all.

What happens if we dont complete the 24 hours?

This is your personal challenge so don’t let that stop you from trying. Just do your best and enjoy your time together!

Do I have to fundraise? Is there a fundraising minimum?

You can participate in the challenge without fundraising for charity but part of our mission is to help Unicef build a better world for children. If you choose to fundraise the suggested minimum is £10.

What is everydayhero?

everydayhero is an online fundraising platform which Unicef uses to collect donations. Your Team Page also works as your fundraising page. You can participate in the challenge without fundraising, but if you do choose to fundraise the suggested minimum is £10. You can access your Team Page by clicking the login button at the top of the website.

I’m not a UK resident, can I still take part in the challenge or fundraise?

Yes. The 24-hour challenge is free for anyone who wishes to use it. Within the UK we are encouraging participants to fundraise for our charity partner Unicef UK, and funds raised by residents of Ireland will automatically go to benefit Unicef Ireland. Eligibility for our prizes and competitions is restricted to the UK and Ireland.

Where does the money that we raise go?

Your fundraising can help provide children with clean water, life-saving food, vaccines, and a safe space to laugh and play so that they grow up happy and healthy.

  • £10 could provide a month’s supply of clean drinking water for 300 children
  • £24 could give a month's supply of life-saving food for a severely malnourished child
  • £55 could train a midwife to provide care to keep mum and baby safe and healthy
Unicef administration are just 2p in every £1. The other 98p helps children or raise money to help children.
